1998

JANUARY, 1998

It was a cool, crisp winter day and we decided to take a walk downtown to the lake. The snow that had fallen the previous evening created a winter wonderland for us to enjoy.

There was a thin coat of ice under the snow which made walking difficult. The girls walked together, Jan held on to Marc, and Len had trouble keeping his footing because Sandy seemed to be in a hurry to get there.

After we returned to the house, Chris, Marc and Pam warmed themselves in front of the wood burning stove while Jan made coffee to help take the chill off. Later Marc took a nap and the rest of us rested. It was one day in the week that we all enjoyed.

JUNE, 1998

Summer is the time for outdoor fun and Chris, Pam, Marc and Len went to the golf course to practice before their so called tournament to be held the next day.
They had a great time and Pam only hit the ball backwards once. Everyone got a laugh out of that and we have been kidding her about it ever since.

Sandy, not wanting to be left out of the fun, kept Len busy throwing the frisbee. We spent a lot of time in the backyard and all sat around a campfire in the evenings listening to music.

OCTOBER, 1998

It was Autumn in Canada and the leaves were falling but the weather was beautiful so we still were able to enjoy outdoor activities.
Everyone had rides in Marc's ARGO all-terrain vehicle which can be driven on water as well as on land. Some of us even learned how to drive it. Marc took us through his 99 acre Cedar bush where we saw the terrible damage caused by last Winter's devastating ice storm.

Marc, Chris and Pam went for a walk, and when they returned to the house, Marc was hungry so Buddy phoned in an order for pizza.

One afternoon we went for a ride and Marc showed us an old buggy he had restored for a friend. Angel gave Little Boy a good swat when he asked her if it was the same kind she rode in when she was younger. That's one prime example of how he teases her.

All of us enjoy Bluegrass music. One evening two other members of the Northwind Bluegrass Band, Steve (Guitar)and Donald (Bass) Stang, came over and, with Marc (Mandolin), they played music for us for several hours. We all enjoyed the "concert" and consider that evening the highlight of our visit.
