Remembrance - August 29, 2005, Hurricane Katrina

Graphic Intense. May Be Slow To Load

After causing considerable damage in the Miami area of Florida, hurricane Katrina crossed the Gulf Of Mexico, and came ashore as a class 4 hurricane on August 29, 2005. It affected Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama. The next morning the levees broke and water flooded the entire city of New Orleans. This storm caused America's worst natural disaster in its history.

Take a moment to reflect on the this tragedy
and keep the victims and their families in your prayers.

Time of Greatest Need - For Hurricane Katrina's Victims
by Jill Allison Eisnaugle

Even when the worst is finished
And the storm waters recede
Kindness shall not be diminished
In your time of greatest need
For we feel the weight you carry
And the burdens you must bear
Knowing that your spirit, wary
Needs the love of those who care.

In the face of utter madness
Is an everlasting light
That brings hope amid the sadness -
Calmness to the fear and fright
We will be forever with you
Until every need is met
For the hardships you have gone through
We will not soon forget.

Even when the worst is finished
And the toll has last been known
Kindness shall not be diminished
And you'll never walk alone
For we'll be right there beside you
In our hearts and souls, indeed
Giving all that we can accrue
In your time of greatest need.

"Into Your hands

I commend my spirit.

You will redeem me,

Lord, faithful God"

Psalm 31:6

"For He shall give

His angels charge over thee,

to keep thee in all thy ways."

Psalm 91:11

Who ponders National events shall find
An awful balancing of loss and gain,
Joy based on sorrow, good with ill combined,
And proud deliverance issuing out of pain

And direful throes; as if the All-ruling Mind,
With whose perfection it consists to ordain
Volcanic burst, earthquake, and hurricane,
Dealt in like sort with feeble human kind

By laws immutable. But woe for him
Who thus deceived shall lend an eager hand
To social havoc. Is not Conscience ours,
And Truth, whose eye guilt only can make dim;

And Will, whose office, by divine command,
Is to control and check disordered Powers?
